Widespread Panic -- "Don't Tell The Band"
This is the 7th studio album from the southern rock jam band Widespread Panic. If you could give each jam band a different classification, these guys would be the southern sound, as they have a similar sound to bands such as Lynyrd Skynyrd and the like. From Athens Georgia, the same town the REM is from, these guys are very loyal to their sound, they will experiment and what not, but very southern rooted. This album is very fan friendly and can easily be one of their best albums. They also have songs on the album such as Big Wooly Mammoth in which they've been playing for years just never had it on an album. They also take a decent stab at latin music with the song "Casa Del Grillo".
This is a good album that I can recommend to anyone that likes Southern Rock, it's not very Jammy so it's more friendly to regular listeners. Overall it's a pretty good album, I have a bit of hesitancy in my voice as you can probably see. Though it's a good album, it doesn't become one that you think, ah I should get out this album. It's not very lasting in that manner. So I'm going to give it 3.5 out of 4 stars.
