Parliment -- Funkentelechy Vs. the Placebo Syndrome

Led by the Funk master himself George Clinton, this is Parliment's 7th album which produced their biggest hit in the song Flashlight. The thing that surpirsed me about this cd is that there are only 6 songs, but besides two songs they're all about 9 minutes long. It's a pretty good cd when funk is concerned, but besides Flashlight it's not the best for singles, it's not really danceable either. It feels like they think they're the bomb so they can do whatever they want. For instance, one of the songs is basically a robot talking with a groovy beat behind it. So it's just sorta weird.

If you like Funk you could check this one out, but I'd try a different cd by the same group. This cd is just weirdness with some funkyness behind it. I'm going to give this cd 2 out of 4 stars because of its on amazing song and for a couple of good moments in the long songs.
