Gogol Bordello -- Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike

This album is very well named first off. Now if you haven't heard of Gogol Bordello, then just look to the album name to find out the kind of music he does. That's right, Gypsy Punk. Imagine Gypsy music added to Punk and you really do have the music down right there. The stuff this man does is truly fun and insane. His music is crazy and you can't help but enjoy it. As long as he's doing faster tunes, which most of the album is, you can't help but feel the craziness of the music. The slower songs though still pretty good, don't hold the same feel that the fast songs do. I'd say the biggest problem you can find in his music is that if you listen to one of his songs and find you don't like Gypsy Punk, well then you're not going to like anything he does. But if you find yourself liking it, go out and get his stuff cause you'll continue to like it.

I'd recommend this album to anyone who's willing to try out Gypsy Punk. It's fun, it's exciting and it's an all around good time. This album has some really fun stuff on it and you don't find yourself getting bored but you could feel drowsy during the slower songs. Very good album, I'm glad a friend of mine told me about this guy.

3.5/4 stars
