Eels -- Daisies Of The Galaxy

You know, I hate it when I get a recommendation for something I'll probably like, but it takes me a couple of months before I actually get around to listening to it. Well once again I've done just that with this album. For those that don't know of the Eels, it's the brain child of frontman "E". The rest of the band changes at different times. This album released in 2000, has some songs I remember from high school and some other songs I hadn't ever really listened to. But it wasn't until I listened to the song "Packing Blankets" that I decided to finally give this album a chance. Though it's still not the kind of music I would listen to on a regular basis, it still is able to find it's way in. Also unfortunatly after a while, E's voice starts to get on my nerves, I'm not a big fan of his voice, and so for me it would seem to have an occasionaly Eels song more then a full album.

I'd recommend the Eels to Elliot Smith fans. I'm not really sure who else to recommend them to though. This album is going to get 3 out of 4 stars from me. This has some exceptional songs, and some that make me forget I'm listening to a cd. Overall it's a good cd, and I'm sure a couple of songs will go into my heavy rotation.
